Join us as we follow the steps of Paul to places such as Ephesus, Corinth, Colossae, Athens, Philippi and Berea. Grow in your understanding of the context of the book of Revelation as we visit each of the sites of the 7 churches and the island of Patmos where this book was penned. Stand amidst well-preserved archaeological sites and imagine what it was like. Allow the Bible to come to life as you deepen your understanding of its context.
An Information Evening will be help at PTC Sydney (77 Shaftesbury Road, Burwood) at 730pm on 3 April, 2012.
For more information, chat to Murray Smith or click here for detailed itinerary.
To register your interest for the tour, email Susan Finlay
We've recently been informed that car parking on Sundays may get a little bit more difficult. The TAFE car park that was made available to the Greek Orthodox church is now closing its gates on Sundays and so there will be more cars about. Please do factor this into your timing in future Sundays - it may be a good time to check out what's on offer for Breakfast at Kirkplace!
Options for car parking include: Derby St car park; surrounding streets of Kirkplace; commuter car parks on Railway Parade, Railway St and Station St; or for those of us who are able, leaving the car at home and walking to church!
If you’re interested in serving Kirkplace on the morning tea roster or as a service director, please register your interest on the care & communication card or at the Information Hub. Those who volunteer only the morning tea roster have a budget to purchase food with and will need to set up and pack away the tables. Service directors will receive full training – so don’t feel daunted!
Beth Social and I would like to invite anyone who might be interested in joining us on a Friday night at 6.30pm. The venue may change so if anyone is interested it would be best to send me an email. At the moment we are gathering at the Banksia Pub for dinner and fellowship. Anyone is welcome.
We would also like to make it a form of outreach to non believers, friends and family. A non threatening environment for them to see that although we are a 'peculiar' people we are still people and very approachable. :)
My contact details are Sally Hall: sallychall@optusnet.com.au and Beth is better contacted by mobile 0413 155 670
Pastor Steve Chong made an important announcement to the members of the Kirkplace community - you can read his announcement here.

We're planning to do two terms of groundwork this year (terms 1 and 3).
Term 1
Topic: Reading God's Story
Dates: 6 weeks from Feb 5
Teacher: Murray
Vision: the big-picture of the bible (Genesis to Revelation), and some practical stuff on how to read the Bible for all its worth. Hopefully a good refresher for people who've done something like this before, and especially helpful for those (I think quite a few at Kirkplace) who've never been introduced to the big picture of the Bible through NextGen or NTE or whatever.
Term 3
Topic: Gospel living
Dates: 9 weeks from July 22
Teacher: Dan Au
Vision: a challenging intro the basics of living as a Christian. Again, hopefully a good refresher and challenge for everyone, but especially helpful for newer Christians.
More info: speak to Murray Smith
Paul's letter to the Romans is one of the most loved books of the New Testament. It's rich vision of God's love for us in Jesus has been transforming lives for centuries. That's why in Semester 1, 2012, the Presbyterian Theological Centre will be offering Romans as an easily accessible evening class. Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy 12 evenings exploring the riches of God's word.
Dates: 6-9pm, 7 February - 20 March and 24 April - 29 May
Lecturer: Murray Smith
Credit: This subject can be studied as part of several awards, or just for its own sake (audit). People who take this unit will be well placed to join the next PTC Study Tour, 'In the footsteps of Paul' (Turkey and Greece) in Semester 2, 2012.
More info: speak to Murray Smith or Allister Lum Mow, or call the PTC office on 9744 1977
