On a cold Wednesday night, Kirkplace Presbyterian gathered together to pray and worship Jesus. Rather than using the normal church building, we had the special privilege of being able to meet upstairs on the (currently vacant) Level 4 of the office block above our building. It's a wide open space, with plenty of area to move around; but best of all, it lets us look out over the community of Kogarah. Maybe it's because we haven't got any windows in our regular building, that it was such a special thing to be able to see the area around us.

Led by the always well thought-out and sensitive worship leading of Trevor Hodge, we started the evening with singing and praise, and then moved into a time of prayer. We prayed hard that night - for our church, for members of the congregation, for those in need, for those who don't yet know Jesus, for the community around us. Prayer is a funny thing; it can be really hard as a church to keep that on the agenda; there always seem to be lots of other things that need attention as a church. But it's worth the effort; it brings us closer to God, it brings us closer to each other as a congregation. |

Ultimately, we're trying to be a church that doesn't just add prayer on to the activities we do - but makes it the foundation for them. So we're looking forward to many more of these evenings as the years roll on at Kirkplace.
