What do you do during the week? Mostly work, maybe hang with friends on a Tuesday or Thursday and Kirkgroup on Wednesday :)

What do you like to do for fun? Go to concerts, watch movies and hang with friends.

How long you have been at Kirkplace and what is your favourite thing about your church? Approximately 6 months and I love the sense of genuine love from everyone here- it's like coming home and everybody sincerely cares for one another.

How did you come to know Jesus? Through a series of strange events and through music.

Why are you excited about getting baptised this Sunday? Why wouldn't I be? I get to officially give myself and my life to Jesus! After all He's done for me and for all of us, I'm excited to boldly say I am His.

How can your church family pray for you as you take this step in your life of following Jesus? Just that I can be strong and brave, living for Him and His glory and to not falter or be led astray, that I will be resistant to temptations and be as a light, leading those who see me to the Christ our Lord through my words and actions.

What do you do during the week? I'm in year 10 at St. Catherine's in Waverley.

What do you like to do for fun? I like spending time with friends and family, going to the beach, and eating good food! I also love playing tennis and attempting to play the guitar :)

How long you have been at Kirkplace and what is your favourite thing about your church? I've been at Kirkplace for about 1-2 years? (can't really remember) My favourite things about church are the awesome music, youth group on fridays and how God's love flows through everyone at church!

How did you come to know Jesus? I've grown up learning about Jesus, but it wasn't until high school that I really discovered for myself Jesus' amazing sacrifice for us. I've been really blessed to be able to keep learning about Him at school and also at Kirkplace, and through this to keep growing in a relationship with Him. Kirkyouth has also been a huge part of my journey as a Christian. I've learnt heaps from the Bible studies, but seeing the way the leaders love and care for the youth and also how the youth all care for each other has been really encouraging to me as well.

Why are you excited about getting baptised this Sunday? I'm really excited because its been a few years since I first made the decision to follow Jesus, and now I'm finally able to show publicly and share with my church family my commitment to serve Jesus for the rest of my life.

How can your church family pray for you as you take this step in your life of following Jesus? Please pray that I will always be a witness to God through all my words and actions, and that I will always turn to Jesus in everything that I do.

What do you do during the week? I work in Product Management and Marketing for CSR – PGH Bricks

What do you like to do for fun? Anything not involving work, Skiing, riding bikes, running, travelling, going to the beach, hanging out with my mates and my girlfriend.

How long you have been at Kirkplace and what is your favourite thing about your church? I’ve been at KP for six months. My favourite things are good teaching, great fellowship, genuine relationships with other believers & Kirkgroup with TyTy and the guys.

How did you come to know Jesus? I started going to church when I was 17, however it wasn’t until I was 25 that God used a combination of circumstances to get my attention, so in January 2008 I really became a Christian and started following Christ and serving him.

Why are you excited about getting baptised this Sunday? I haven’t had a bath in a long time and Kirkplace has full immersion, so it will be both spiritually and physically cleansing.

How can your church family pray for you as you take this step in your life of following Jesus? Pray the Lord would grant me wisdom, patience, perseverance, accountability, the desire for repentance and knowledge of God’s Grace and forgiveness of Sin.

What do you do during the week? I sleep, eat, cry, and fill my nappies.

What do you like to do for fun? I smile at my mum and dad and brother and sisters.

How long you have been at Kirkplace and what is your favourite thing about your church? I've been at Kirkplace 12 weeks (unless you count the 9 months before that). I love the cuddles.

How did you come to know Jesus? I can't say his name yet, or talk about what he's done for me, but mum and dad tell me that God loved me even before he made the world.

Why are you excited about getting baptised this Sunday? Mum and dad tell me that God is faithful to the thousandth generation of those who love him (Exodus 34.7; Psalm 103.17), that Jesus welcomed the little children (Mark 10.13-16), and that the promise of salvation is not just for adults who believe, but also for their children (Acts 2.39). I've got no idea about the whole thing. But that's the point. God loves me before I can even say his name, before I have done anything good or bad, before I can do anything to try to earn his love. Baptism is a sign of God's grace to me, even though I don't yet know it.

How can your church family pray for you as you take this step in your life of following Jesus? Please pray that as I grow up God will work in me by his Holy Spirit, and give me the grace to believe in my heart and confirm with my lips the faith into which I have been baptised.

What do you do during the week? I work as a lawyer in a commercial law firm. I help companies draft contracts, structure transactions and provide them with all sorts of legal assistance.

What do you like to do for fun? Working in the professional services industry means I don't have that much time to myself. So lately, I really enjoy spending a quiet night at home with my wife. And for fun, I won't say no to a quick game on my PS3 or reading comics online :)

How long you have been at Kirkplace and what is your favourite thing about your church? I have been a regular since November last year when I moved back to Sydney from Hong Kong via Melbourne. Prior to this, I have come to KP every Sunday I am in Sydney, which is to say a fair amount! The thing I like most about KP is that everyone is so supportive of each other.

How did you come to know Jesus? My mum is Catholic and took me to mass when I was little. Also, in high school, I had to regularly attend chapel. However, I would say I came to know Jesus personally in uni through christian groups and friends.

Why are you excited about getting baptised this Sunday? I was meaning to get baptised for a while but my job has required alot of travelling and it was difficult to have a "home" church. I am excited that I am able to finally have the chance to affirm Jesus as my personal saviour before my brothers and sisters in Christ and friends and family.

How can your church family pray for you as you take this step in your life of following Jesus? Please pray that I would be faithful in following Jesus through the ups and downs of life. And please pray that I would have more time and discipline in reading the Bible.

What do you do during the week? I’m a full time Uni student at UNSW. I have KG on Wednesdays and serve up smoothies on the weekend!

What do you like to do for fun? I love to cook, bake, read and spend time with friends and family.

How long you have been at Kirkplace and what is your favourite thing about your church? I’ve been to Kirkplace for about 3 months now and I love how everyone is so encouraging of one another. People really take the time to build relationships and encourage one another and hold each other accountable in their walks with Christ.

How did you come to know Jesus? My cousin encouraged me to come along to church one Sunday and it got me really curious as to whom this Jesus fellow is. It wasn’t until I started reading the Bible that I realised that we have a mighty Savior, so abundant in love and mercy who created this earth and created me.

Why are you excited about getting baptised this Sunday? It has taken me a while to accept that God has a place for me in His family despite all my flaws and blemishes. I’m really excited to be able to say that I belong to such a loving God and to have my family and friends share that joy.

This is so encouraging and helpful! I'm so sad that I'll miss the baptism but this helps me know the candidates better in praying for them! Will be praying for KP this Sunday in Queensland.
