The Partnerships team exists to to encourage, empower & inspire Kirkplace to share this good news of Jesus in word and deed. We seek to do this by raising awareness & developing opportunities for loving action for the Kirkplace community in the following areas...
Local
We live in a diverse and dynamic part of Sydney! At Kirkplace we want to be a church where we show and share God’s love to our Kogarah Community. Some of the ways we are seeking to do this:
- Getting to know our community through conversation, participation and helping out where we can
- Involvement in the annual Kogarah Fair and Bed Race helping to raise funds for our local hospital, as well as running a local community Christmas Carol event
Global
Our world is an amazing place. God loves this planet and people lots and so do we. There is so much to celebrate and much to help out with. At Kirkplace we are committed to sharing God’s heart for the world through partnership and participation. Some of the ways we do this:
- Being aware of the world around us.
- Using Fairtrade tea and coffee
- Supporting the work of TEAR, World Vision & other groups loving people through their involvement in overseas communities
- Partnering with gospel workers in India through bible translation, training and micro-finance projects
People we need…
- Those with a heart for sharing Jesus with their friends, family & community
- Those interested in planning & participating in local events
- Those who are Strategic thinkers, Creative types, People-People
- Those interested in raising awareness & supporting those in global gospel work
Commitment:
- 2 hr Monthly meeting
- Tasks in between meetings
- Events during year
- Team training day - attendance at a global-focussed conference
We are excited about seeing God's love overflowing to our local & global communities. We would love you to join us in strategically thinking & planning creative outreach projects & events to make this happen!
