Kirkplace is a church for anyone and everyone who wants to know more about Jesus. No matter what your situation in life, your cultural background, beliefs, we would love to get to know you!
It doesn’t matter whether you have been going to church for decades, or if this is your first time – everyone is welcome at Kirkplace.
To help you feel at ease we thought we would give you a bit of an idea of what it's like to come to Kirkplace.
Kirkplace is a friendly and easy going community of Christians. Feel free to come in whatever you feel comfortable in (most regulars come in their jeans and tees!).
When you first walk all the door you will usually get handed a order of service (so you know what's happening) and a name tag. Then you can feel free to come in, sit down and enjoy the service. At some stage before or after, be sure to visit The Hub and enjoy a coffee too!
The services generally always include (except on special occasions):
- Singing – to bring honour and glory to God, and encourage one another. The music is contemporary and the singing is loud!
- Announcements – so members and friends know what's happening in the life of our church.
- Meet and greet time – for people to quickly say Hi to one another during the service.
- Kids Talks and KirkKids – this is for the children who are part of our church community. We all enjoy the kids talk during the service, and then the children go out for a separate teaching time after the service.
- Bible Readings and Sermon – this is where we hear from God's word, and have it explained to us so that we can know, love and serve God better in our everyday lives.
- Prayer – we often spend time together, talking to God, showing we are dependant on Him for our needs, and expressing our gratitude and thanks for all He provides.
- Morning Tea – so we can catch up more AND eat yummy food!
Often after the services members choose to go to local cafes and take away shops to eat together in big groups. Once a month we try to all eat lunch together at someone's house or in the hall - this is a great time where everyone just hangs out and catches up over a meal.
