Children & Families

“We will not hide them from their children; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, his power, and the wonders he has done.” –Ps 78v4

Vision:

• To see the love of God overflow to the kids in our church family, as well as the wider community so that we see children growing in their knowledge and love of Jesus Christ as they revel in Him as their Lord and Saviour, and know that they are valued in our church community. 
• To support parents as the primary spiritual caregivers of their children

To take part in any of these you must be a follower of Christ, and committed to coming to Kirkplace each week. We also require you adhere to our churches child protection policies and be able to sign a Prohibited Employment Declaration (Attachment 4) .

Commitments:

Option 1) Kid’s Talks – to deliver children’s talks once or twice a quarter based on the topic provided. Coming to training/meetings is encouraged although not required.  AND/OR

Option 2) KirkKids – to prepare for and teach the children from the Bible using a provided curriculum each Sunday during school terms.  Coming to meetings once a term (4 times a year) to find out the term plans is necessary.  We would also like to look at having Kids Fun days during school holidays for the children a few times during the year to build relationships, however coming to those will not be a requirement (but will be fun!).   AND/OR

Option 3) Teaching Scripture in State Schools – to prepare for and teach students religious educationfrom a provided curriculum for approx. 45mins. each week of school terms.  You can be a helper in the classroom or the main teacher.  AND/OR

Option 4) Mothers Group Support – for people who would like to help take care of the children while the Mothers Group starting next year is on.  It will most likely be for a couple of hours once a week (on a week day) taking care of children under 5.  Coming to the KirkKids training meetings could be helpful but won’t be required.

Option 5) We run a music and me group for 0-5yr olds from time to time. If you are musical and would like to help out teaching these children about music, then talk to Millie.
